Stock the Bar Party

So my Little is getting MARRIED! They never had an engagement party, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and throw them a "Stock the Bar" engagement party.

Step 1: Create the Invitations

I'm lucky enough to have Microsoft Publisher at work and put this gem together.

Step 2: The Decorations

For the banner, I used my new obsession, Publisher, again. I got a clipart photo of a wine bottle and added a letter to it. Once they were printed, I laminated them and cut them out. I used mod podge and gold glitter to make them look cuter. It was easy to do because I had printed a letter on each one. I just put glue where the printed letter was, and added glitter accordingly.

The pom-poms on each end are from Oriental Trading.

My friend's mom had this miniature trough that was the perfect size for all of the photo booth props! I handmade all of the props from various sites (I have similar ones linked at the end of this post!

Here was our bar set-up. I ordered plastic pilsner cups from Smarty Had A Party. The wine glasses were from oriental trading. For the wine glasses, I mod-podged glitter to the stems. Not only did this make them look so much cuter, but it held them together!

I added the chalkboard stickers to both sets of cups so everyone could keep track of their drinks!

These ADORABLE Pop, Fizz, Clink balloons were from Etsy. I just had Party City blow them up with the other plain black and plain gold balloons I had ordered.

I ordered this cute backdrop from Oriental Trading. It looked kind of cheap in person, but turned out GREAT in pictures!

For the Guest Book, we decided on a Message in a Bottle concept. There were slips of paper for everyone to leave their wisdom for the new couple! Find a similar version of the wood sign pictured here.

As an added bonus I stumbled across these bottle openers at the last minute at A.C. Moore that went perfectly with the decor! Their website doesn't have their products, but they were $2 each!

Again, my friend Publisher came in handy. I created this cute love story sign for the party.

In the backyard we had cornhole and giant jenga, so naturally market lights were a must!

Step 3: The FOOD!

We kept the food simple. It was all bar food, and most of it was the frozen T.G.I.Fridays options! We got wings from Wing-n-things in Pompano Beach, and I made queso and meatballs as well!

We also did a super cute wine and cheese pairing! I got black butcher paper from A.C.Moore (I linked a similar roll from Michael's). I found a cheat sheet on which wines and cheeses go together on Pinterest and Voila! 

 

Step 5: The Gift

I started with 2 koozies from Amazon. Then I found the CUTEST post from Rural Life Story's blog. I used her cute poems to make my own versions for my faves. I tried really hard to find wines that went with the milestone.

All in all, it was a GREAT party and everyone seemed like they had a blast!
